- 12.07.09 Minooka Competition Deadline Extended: Minooka's contest scheduled for January 24, 2010 deadline has been changed to January 11th, 2010 or until contest is at capacity. Register today!
- 12.04.09 AA Stagg and Schaumburg Competitions: The schedules for both these contests are now posted inside the Contest Schedule and Results page.
- 12.04.09 Lakes Schedule Revision: A slight revision has been made to the Lakes schedule and reposted inside the Schedule and Results page.
- 12.03.09 Providence Catholic: Is officially closed to all further registrations. For those wishing to compete that first weekend of February, Jersey Community is still accepting registrations.
- 12.02.09 Mr. TDI - Mr. TDI Competition will be offered this weekend at BOTH the Batavia and Lakes Competitions!!!!!
- 12.02.09 Wheaton Warrenville Competition: The schedule is posted in side the Contest Schedule and Results page.
- 12.02.09 Batavia Competition: Please note that a revised schedule for this contest has been posted. The schedule is posted as two documents ~ a morning schedule and afternoon schedule
- 12.02.09 Edwardsville Competition: The competition at Edwardsville is cancelled for this season, but will be offered during the 2010-2011 season. Many thanks to the competition staff at Edwardsville High School!

- 12.01.09 Geneva Competition: The TDI (high school level) portion of the Geneva Competition is FULL and CLOSED for registration. The TeamDance Youth Final Frenzy is still OPEN and accepting registrations!

- 11.04.09 IHSA By-Law Amendment Proposal: IHSA has recently received and review a by-law amendment proposal that would declare a season start date and end date for teams to compete in competitive dance. - 09.29.09 Upstate 8 TDI Conference Championship - The Upstate 8 Conference Championship will not be held as part of the St. Charles East High School Competition on Sunday, November 8th, 2009. St. Charles North WILL be hosting THE UPSTATE 8 Conference Championship on Sunday, February 28th, 2010. - 09.26.09 TEAMDance Collegiate - TEAMDance Illinois is proud to announce our newest division TEAMDance Collegiate (TDC). TDC will serve college level dance teams throughout the midwest and will offer the inaugural TDC Midwest Championship on Saturday January 9, 2010 at Elgin Community College in Elgin, IL. - 09.19.09 TDI Knowledge Assessment - The TDI Knowledge Assessment is now available. Coaches must successfully complete this assessment with a score of 80% or better prior to receiving any state qualifications for Varsity State or JV Elite. Please note that at least 1 Varsity and 1 JV coach must complete this assessment. TDI Officials are required to complete this assessment as part of the certification program. Individuals who successfully complete and pass the knowledge assessment will receive an email confirmating that you passed or need to retake it. Please be sure to keep a copy of this email for your records. The assessment may be found by clicking on the Competitions Toolbar or by clicking here.
- 09.02.09 TDI Audio Logo - In TDI’s ongoing effort to help create opportunities for TRUE Sportsmanship, we offer Coaches and Students who compete at TDI regional competitions and state the chance to dance together. As in the past, this music/Audio Logo will be played to signal to all the awards are ready to begin. Rather than just listen for the music, we want to go one step further and ask that all students and coaches join in on a piece of simple, easy-to-do choreography that is performed while sitting!!! - 07.23.09 New - TDI Online Basic Coaching Knowledge Assessment...Coming Soon - New this year, TDI will be offering an online Coach Knowledge Assessment that reviews those Spirit Rules that Dance and Flag coaches need to know the most often. All member Varsity and JV coaches will be required to complete this online class in order to be eligible to qualify for the TDI State Championship and JV Elite Championship. TDI recommends that ALL COACHES take this online course to be knowledgeable and prepare for regional competitions. Check back here soon for more details and directions. Please note, all coaches will still also be strongly encouraged to take the online IHSA Spirit Rules meeting course. So, there will be two online courses for those seeking state and JV Elite qualification - the IHSA Spirit Rules meeting through www.ihsa.org (not required, but highly recommended) and the TDI Knowledge Assessment (required) through this website and available in mid-September
- 07.23.09 - Incomplete Team Membership Application surcharges - Based on feedback and support from those who attended the April, 2009 Spring Ahead Meeting, TDI will be issuing a $40 surcharge to those teams who submit incomplete TEAM membership packets. Incomplete membership packets created an extraordinary amount of extra work for our membership volunteer last year. Teams start the membership application process online. Once that process is complete, they will receive an invoice and checklist of all that needs to be sent into TDI's headquarters in Geneva along with their payment. This "packet" needs to be complete before sending. Double check every signature and form before sending. Teams will not be considered members until this completed package is received.
- 07.23.09 - Independent Division for In-State Non-School teams and any out of state teams whose members are predominantly 10-12th Grade. This pilot program provides independent teams the opportunity to compete in their own division at regional competitions that also offer TDY categories. In-State, non-School teams can only register for a regional if they are concurrently registering along with their sister TDY team. Please check within the TDI Competitions portion of the website for more details on this new division.
- 07.23.09 New Division descriptions for TeamDance Youth ~ New this year, TDY will be divided into two divisions ~ Varsity and JV. These divisions are based on the experience level of the team members. The age range for TDY teams is age 9 to grade 9. TDY - Varsity = Teams for which 50% or greater of their students have experience with competitive dance or is predominantly comprised of 8th and 9th graders. TDY - JV is for essentially novice or entry level teams, 50% or more of the team should not have experience within competitive dance. TDY Final Frenzy Contest will be February 7, 2010 at Geneva High School. Teams must be members in order to compete.
- 07.11.09 IHSA Spirit Rule Meeting Requirement - Do I have to attend an IHSA Spirit rule meeting this year? NO! IHSA will be offering an ON-LINE Spirit Rules meeting starting in August of 2009 and a few in-person meetings throughout the state. IHSA will still require ONE Spirit Coach from each school to complete this class. Please coordinate this requirement with your school administration. TDI will NOT require coaches to take this online class in order to be eligible for State and JV Elite Qualification, but taking it is highly, highly recommended for ALL. TDI recommends that ALL COACHES take the course in order to be more prepared and knowledgeable of the NFHS & IHSA rules and guidelines. Click here to learn more about Spirit Rule offerings.
